63 in the 603 highlights local businesses and artists that call New Hampshire home.
Drew Kane, a passionate floating advocate, is the owner of NH Float Therapy in Londonderry, the only fully dedicated float wellness center in New Hampshire. Drew believes the relaxation and health benefits can help others and is on the mission to introduce the experience to others with the ultimate goal of becoming the float king of New Hampshire!
1. What products and services do you offer?
NH Float offers flotation therapy, also known as sensory deprivation. Customers float in 8 to 10 inches of water that is filled with 1,200 pounds of Epsom Salt and warmed to 94.5 degrees, so when in the water, people can’t tell where the water ends, and the outside air begins. All of the floats at NH Float take place in soundproof rooms, though customers are also given earplugs to shut out ambient noise. Customers also control the lighting, whether they prefer lighting or complete darkness. Once the room is ready for customers close their eyes and enjoy a relaxing 60 minutes experience like they never have before.
2. How long have you been in business?
NH Float opened in November 2017.
3. How do people find you online?
Our website (nhfloat.com) is full of resources for those who want to learn more about floating. People can preview the different types of float tanks, learn more about the benefits of floating, and can book online. People can also follow us on social media, New Hampshire Float Therapy on Facebook, and @nhfloattherapy on Instagram.
4. What is lesser known about your business that you wish more people knew?
There are true physical benefits that have been proven at the Laureate Institute for Brain Research. Your body goes into unique state of hibernation. Floating lowers your blood pressure, lowers your heart rate, and even shuts off the part of your brain responsible for stress. Also, the float tanks are much bigger than people think without seeing them in person.
5. What’s your favorite thing about living in NH?
My favorite thing about living in New Hampshire is the wildlife. My wife and I moved to Salem about nine years ago. Since then, I’ve seen all types of wildlife to include my first black bear and my first bald eagle—both down the street from my house! It always makes me smile when I see wildlife.
